TWC, established in November of 2011 by Ryan Walker, offers specialized services preparing construction drawings detailing rebar shape, size, spacing and length. Rebar is used and needed anywhere steel reinforcement is required in concrete, ie. concrete walls, columns, floor slabs, footings, commercial and residential foundations. ‘Shop/Placing Drawings’ are submitted for Engineers review to confirm all standards are met in accordance with design drawings before construction can proceed.
With over 10 years experience in rebar detailing and more than 15 years working with AutoCAD and construction blueprints I have reached the peak of my career, and I am ready to take on a new challenge. TWC is the product of a life-long desire to fulfil my entrepreneurial drive.
The rebar industry is expected to grow more than 49 percent between 2010 and 2020 according to the US Department of Labour. Thus, the need for experienced detailers will increase along with this projected growth. I am expecting to hire (3) detailers and plan to move into a commercial office space. A professional web-site is mandatory to act as a platform for construction drawing uploads/downloads, provide up-to-date resources for project status and be a communication tool between project stakeholders.
Work to date has been in partnership with rebar fabricators in major Canadian cities including Calgary, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario. I will continue to strengthen these relations, as well as develop new connections with local organizations to pursue similar projects in the area.
